A new book has been published tracing the history of the Presbyterian Church in the Seattle and North Puget
Sound area: The Presbytery of Seattle 1858-2005, the “Dream” of a Presbyterian Colony in the West by Robert
L. Welsh. The book contains personal narratives, statistics and information on issues that helped form the
Presbytery of Seattle and the PC(USA). You will find histories of current and past churches in the Seattle,
Olympia, North Puget Sound and Central Washington presbyteries. All proceeds from the book’s sales will be
used to fund history projects with smaller churches in the Presbytery of Seattle. For more information go to www.
